The Green Belt Movement – This program was founded by Nobel Peace Prize Winner (2004) Wangari Maathai. The Green Belt Movement provides income and sustenance to millions of people in Kenya through the planting of trees. It also conducts educational campaigns to raise awareness about women’s rights, civic empowerment, and the environment throughout Kenya and Africa.
amfAR – The foundation for AIDS research is one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.
Amnesty International – Amnesty international is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. Amnesty International’s mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.
Doctors Without Borders (also known as MSF) – This is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries. Doctors Without Borders won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
100% of the money that you give to buy a book will go to these organizations.
Feel free to make your check out to one of these organizations. If you pay by check, then your donation is tax-deductible. If you use cash to pay for the book, the money will be divided among the organizations. (We need to sell 214 books to meet our goal.)
